Decorating with Fresh Greenery for Christmas
Create a real down home look that is distinctively yours by making some of your decorations. I love the look of home made decorations that reflect your
personality and that of your family. It is so inviting.
Gather together a few candles and table ornaments and put in a grouping
on your console or an end table. You'd be amazed at what a difference just a few items can make to bring cheer to the room. Be sure to vary the heights of the
pieces for a more pleasing grouping. Don't put too many things together in one place.
A manger scene somewhere in the room, on the coffee table, on a console, on the
mantle will silently remind everyone of the true meaning of Christmas. As my family gathers to open gifts on Christmas morning, I always spend a few moments
talking about the birth of Jesus and giving thanks for health, safety and His blessings to all of us and to pray for peace on earth. It's a great way to teach the importance of giving and
diminish the focus on getting.
Here is artwork that typically doesn't say "Christmas", however since the
decorations pick up on the colors in the art, it has been nicely incorporated into the overall season and makes a charming mantle, especially for small
children to enjoy.
